Change Instrument

How to get there

Select a region of a staff and choose Utilities > Change Instrument.

What it does

This dialog box allows you to choose the instrument you would like the performer to switch to. The instrument you choose will appear in the Score Manager, its first measure listed under the Start Meas. column.

• [List of Instruments]. All Finale's instruments are available from this list. Choose the instrument family from the list on the left to display its instruments on the left. Select the instrument you would like to change to in the right column.

Note. To add mid-score instrument change text (e.g. "To Flute"), use an expression. See To add the text indication under Adding mid-score instrument changes.

• OK • Cancel. Click OK to confirm your settings and add the instrument change. Click Cancel to discard the settings you’ve made in this dialog box.
