If this option is selected, a copy of the selected notes appears in the target measure, occupying the same beats. If your selection omitted notes on certain beats (for example, if you selected only the first and third of four quarter notes), rests will appear in the appropriate positions in the target measure.
Note that this command replaces all notes in the target measure (if there are any), no matter how few you selected in the source measure. Therefore, it works best if the target measure is empty.
