Choose "Simple Entry Rest Palette" from the Window menu to display or hide the Simple Entry Rest Palette. This palette contains an individual icon for each rhythmic value for a rest. (If the Simple Entry Rest Palette doesn't appear, click the Simple Entry tool.) Using the tools on this floating palette, you can enter rests into your score by clicking one rest at a time. The Simple Entry keyboard commands are summarized in the diagram that appears on your Quick Reference Card.
Tip: While using the caret, press 0 or numpad 0 to enter a rest of the duration chosen in the Simple Entry or Simple Entry Rests palette.
Double Whole Rest
Click the staff to enter a double whole rest.
Whole Rest
Click the staff to enter a whole rest.
Half Rest
Click the staff to enter a half rest.
Quarter Rest
Click the staff to enter a quarter rest.
Eighth Rest
Click the staff to enter an eighth rest.
16th Rest
Click the staff to enter a 16th rest.
32nd Rest
Click the staff to enter a 32nd rest.
64th Rest
Click the staff to enter a 64th rest.
128th Rest
Click the staff to enter a 128th rest.
