You can assign a complete chord symbol to each of the number keys and each of the letter key on your keyboard, for use as described below in To enter a chord using a Metatool.

To program a chord symbol Metatool

1. Click the Chord tool . While pressing shift, press a number or letter key. The Chord Definition dialog box appears.
2. Define the chord. See To define and enter a chord symbol manually and To enter a chord symbol manually with MIDI data input for full instructions on creating chord symbols. 
3. Click OK (or press ENTER). When you return to the document, it will appear as though nothing has happened. In fact, you have prepared Finale to enter the chord you just described whenever you use the Metatool. See To enter a chord symbol using a metatool.
